The transport network of the republic includes railway, motor, and air transport.
As of January 1, 2011 the length of railway track in use is 39 kilometers, the stretch of public paved roads is 1,761 kilometers.
Air transportation is provided by the Magas Airport.
Oil from the Caspian region is transported to western countries via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil trunk line passing through the territory of the republic.
