AGRICULTURAL SECTOR
The cultivated area of all agricultural plants in all farms is 297.1 th. ha as of January 1, 2011.
Soil resources include 23 types and 389 categories of soils. Plains are covered with black soils and liver-coloured soils; and there are mountain meadow soils on hill sides.
Crop growing is focused on grain production (corn, wheat, millet), potato, vegetables, sunflower, cannabis for production and technical needs; animal farming is concentrated in beef and dairy cattle production, sheep breeding, and poultry breeding. Horse raising is of much interest.
