AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

Farming area is 882.04 th. ha.

Five agroclimatic zones with their specific climatic, soil and landform characteristics are identified: dry steppe zone with chestnut soils; dry steppe zone with meadow, meadow alluvial and meadow marshy soils; steppe zone with chernozemic soils; forest-steppe zone with chernozemic, meadow-chernozemic and meadow soils; highland forest zone with prevailing brown forest soils. 

Main areas in crop production is production of fruit, vegetables, grain crops, leguminous plants, sun flower; in animal farming is dairy and beef cattle breeding, sheep farming.
